Privacy

Last updated 7 September 2026. Applies to https://newpc.meme and to the $NEWPC demo game hosted on it.

The short version: the game asks for a Google sign-in only when you want a place in the shared table or your progress on another device, and even then it keeps an anonymous account id and nothing that identifies you.

What is stored

Only if you sign in:

  • An account id. Google gives us an opaque identifier for your account, specific to this app. We put it through a one-way function and store the result. The original identifier is never written down.
  • Your nickname, which you choose yourself and which is shown next to your score in the table.
  • A snapshot of your game progress - credits, parts and the PCs you assembled - so it follows you to another device.

Whether or not you sign in:

  • Counters, under a random identifier generated in your browser: how many boxes were opened, how many PCs were assembled, how many days you came back. No part list, no names, no addresses. Kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically.
  • Your game state in your own browser, in local storage. That never leaves your device unless you sign in, and clearing your browser data removes it.

What is not stored

When you sign in, Google offers us your email address, your name and your profile picture. The game does not need any of them, so they are discarded the moment your sign-in is verified and are never written to storage.

There is no password, because there is nothing to log into other than Google. We do not collect your location, your contacts, your browsing history, or anything from other sites.

Who else sees it

  • Google, when you choose to sign in. That is between you and Google under their own privacy policy; they tell us who you are, we tell them nothing about you.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site and the small service behind it, and which processes ordinary web request logs on our behalf.
  • Other players, who see your nickname and your scores in the shared table. Nothing else about you is shown there.

Nothing is sold, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers on this site.

Deleting your data

There is a Delete account button in the game, next to your nickname. It removes your nickname, your saved progress and every row you put in the table, immediately and permanently.

Anything held in your own browser is cleared by clearing your browser data for this site. You can also revoke this app's access from your Google account permissions.

If you would rather ask a person, write to madeinzp@gmail.com.

Children

This is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly keep data about anyone under 13. If you believe we have, write to the address above and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not keep email addresses.
